Heavens Basement at The 100 Club

I'd never heard of Heavens Basement until yesterday when my friend invited me along to one of their gigs at The 100 Club on Oxford Street. I went along with an open mind but when I saw the streams of guys with big 'power ballad' hairdos and lepoard print tight trousers I started to worry about what was in store for my night out. Then Justin Hawkins of The Darkness fame walks in with shaggy hair, dodgy hat and dark sunglasses - I knew that if he was a fan then I was really in for a treat! Pre-judgements aside, I was really impressed with the outcome. The lead singer Richie had one of those powerful voices that filled the room and the guitar shredding was incredible!
