Funi Kicker Day!!

When I saw on Facebook that Funi were going to be holding a kicker day off the side of the Derby run, I couldn't wait to check it out. I don't mind hitting the kickers in the park, but this was something for the big boys! Hywel was on hand to take pics of everyone's efforts and he had to lug all of his equipment up the mountain which included snowboarding with a bag weighing half of what he does! Hardcore. When we arrived (after some off piste action and a lot of hiking), the kicker had been built and the comp was in full swing. I've never seen so many lads throw so many back flips ever! Pies was the man of the match for me as he even did a back flip whilst drinking a beer mid rotation! What a hero! Him and Joey also went off the kicker at the same time whilst flipping! Was insane! I have some mean video footage which I'm going to edit together so watch this space for that. There was a very impressive turn out and it was cool seeing everyone hike across to join in the showmanship. Back from The Snow

We're all back from Livigno now (boo!) after an absolutely amazing snowboarding trip. Everyone came on leaps and bounds and we had so much fun in the process. The picture above shows our little team halfway through snowboarding across a huuugggeeee mountain and it was such an amazing feeling when we made it to safety on the other side. It makes it very tempting to go out to the mountains for a season, how could you not want to be out in the snow all day long! I think it's safe to say that we're all totally hooked now so roll on this time next year!

Snowboarding Pro....well....sort of!

Literally can't get enough of it! La Tzoumaz was AMAZING and I'd recommend anyone to go there. It's right by Verbier and there are loads of great runs - some are more suited to skiiers as they're quite flat but for those who are more competant on a snowboard should give it a go. We stayed in the most beautiful chalet - it was pure luxury! Check it out: http://www.4valleeschalets.co.uk/chalets/chalet-details/apartment-vanessa-sleeps-62 If you are just learing to turn (like myself), I wouldn't recommend the flat, narrow runs so much - you could cause yourself an injury like I did! Just a few damaged tendons but it was so worth it and puts me in good stead for the next trip which is in just over 5 weeks time! Fingers crossed no injuries this time.......I don't want a return of the claw.....
