Spent a week in Lapland snowboarding and it was absolutely incredible! For starters, the transfer from the airport to the resort, Ruka, was only 30 minutes! The chair lifts were a stone's throw from our apartment AND we had our very own sauna!!! We couldn't really ask for anymore! The coldest weather we experienced was -25 degrees and I must say that my toes definitley felt it. It was so cold that my goggles started to freeze up on the inside....not good....But if you want a cheap, snowy, awesome holiday then I definitely recommend Lapland as a snowboarding destination. As it goes dark at about 3pm, the mountains are then floodlit until 7pm which is an amazing experience. The visability is actually much better at that time of night......
