One of the Best Things I've Ever Seen!!

This is actually amazing! You can make a chocolate cake IN A MUG!! You just stir the ingredients around and put it in the microwave for 3 mins and you end up with a cake at the end!!! How nuts is that! All you need is the following:

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips or (optional) A small splash of vanilla extract and your favourite tipple
1 large coffee mug

Go get involved people...........

Eagles of Death Metal!

Eagles of Death Metal were playing at the Forum on Wednesday night and it only seemed right that I went along to check them out in all their moustached glory! I can definitely say with confidence that it was one of the best gigs I've been to in a LONG time. It was pure indulgent entertainment from start to finish. I suddenly understood the fascination with lead singer Jesse Hughes aka The Devil - there's just something about him that is totally mesmorising and he holds your attention throughout the entire set. Now, bring on Prodigy next Saturday..........

The Importance of 'The'

An interesting discussion came about this evening (you're going to want me to define the word 'interesting' as you hear what I'm about to say!) where we were talking about the word 'The' when it comes to bands. We all know that The Who are actually 'The Who' and that The Darkness are actually 'The Darkness' but what about those bands that make it unclear as to whether they have a 'The' or not?? Like the band 'Gossip' for instance - I always thought they had a 'The' but it turns out they do not! I know that Gallows don't have a 'The' and All American Rejects have no 'The'......there are so many out there that are mis-represented by the media and by radio stations. Have you ever really thought that hard about it?! You have now........

6 Day Riot - ones to watch!

Yesterday I was checking out some new bands on MySpace and found some really great ones. In the evening, my friend invited me down to a gig he was hosting at The Lexington in Angel where a band called 6 Day Riot were playing - and they just so happened to be one of the bands I'd been listening to earlier in the day, so I saw it as a sign to go along! They are a really tight live band and you've got to give them props for the ukulele/double bass/trumpet/melodica/squeeze box combination! They concluded their set with a crowd pleasing and interactive song called 'Ya Da Da' which really made the room come alive. They're playing Glastonbury this year too so definitely ones to watch http://www.myspace.com/6dayriot
