The Long and Winding Road....

....that leads to San Francisco! We left San Luis Obispo on Tuesday and headed to San Fran and decided that we had to go down the Pacific Coast Highway as we had somehow missed it in the earlier part of our trip....I'm still blaming sat nav for that! The view was absolutely incredible and Paige was such a trooper as she voluteered to do the first part of the journey which included all of the 20mph bends and all the other frustrating aspects of driving down a road that hangs on the edge of a cliff! Also, the car shakes if you go over 65mph so it's a great way to stick to the speed limit (hence the reason our car is called 'Shakey'!). We pulled over at a couple of spots to get some great shots - one of which dropped down about 2000ft!! Definitely glad we went that route but wouldn't be in a hurry to do it again if we need to get somewhere quickly! We stopped off in Big Sur for some food (Paige had definitely deserved it!) and then I took over the driving. I had all the main highways (that's a motorway btw my English readers) to drive so I had it pretty easy. We arrived at Paige's cousin's house with ease and the view from her apartment is amazing (see last pic above)! You can see the Golden Gate Bridge and a view of the city. We're so lucky to be staying here and San Fran has proved to be my fav part of the trip so far....more info to come shortly......
