When In Doubt, Add More Wine

Saturday was a day for wine tasting and fireworks! We started off the day with a trip to In and Out Burger as Alexis had told us that they were the best burgers (she wasn't wrong!). Paige also acquired a fetching hat as you can see from the pic above! We then hit up three different winery's for some tasting. It was the first time I'd ever experienced wine tasting and it was really fun. Tried lots of great wine and visited Kendall Jackson, Dry Creek and Wilson winery's. All of which had incredible wines. Paige and I bought a 'porch pounder' from Dry Creek (this is what the guy called it as it was so easy to drink - which turned out to be very true!). Paige had also tried a dessert wine and when she read the back she saw that it said it had 'noble rot' but misread it to say 'knoble rot' so you can imagine the confusion that caused! It was so ridiculously hot too. Was good preparation for the weather in Vegas that's for sure. We then went on to an early 4th July party in Windsor, CA which was lovely. It was at Alexis's childhood neighbours house, Mandy, and her home was amazing. We had a great BBQ (I ate my bodyweight in food/candy) and met lots of lovely American families. Paige bonded with little Aiden (pic above) and he was soooooo cute! We then watched some great fireworks with a lot of "oooo's and awwww's" and I explained the history of fireworks to four year old Vinnie as he had a LOT of questions about them! I think I gave him a lot of my wisdom and he seemed pretty impressed with my firework knowledge....even though most of it was an adaption of the truth.....
