A Very Red, White & Blue Day

So on the 4th July I got very much into the American spirit and dressed up in my red, white and blue (yes my top had a British flag on it but it was the right colours so it counts!) and we went down to Stern Grove to watch the opera. We were in great company as we were with Alexis's awesome friends and we had a lush picnic including some of the wine we'd bought at the wine tasting the day before. We had lots of giggles over the beer bottles (pics above will show why) and then went downtown to a few bars. The first one we went into was a bit of a dive (there was a painting of a naked woman on the wall which was apparently the owners daughter.....yup......) but the beer was cheap! We only stayed for one then grabbed a bite then headed to the Clift Hotel which was so pretty. Paige and I both had our pics taken in the giant chair in the reception area (as you do apparently!). Was a really cool venue and we had some giggles and even though it was a classy place we were convinced there was a "woman" punter who was there to give other services that weren't on the menu....wink wink nudge nudge.......and afterwards we went back to Alexis's friend Kendall's lovely flat for more wine! She had one of those ironing boards that came out of the wall which after a few drinks we found rather entertaining!! Was definitely a great, diverse 4th of July!!
